A new group exhibition called Wake Up! kicks off March 21 at Angels & Muse gallery in Ikoyi, Lagos. The show gathers contemporary art and photography from eight up-and-coming Nigerian artists, curated by Awele Onwordi.
Onwordi, a communications grad and artist, put together works by Ade(To)Juwon Anthony Adeniyi, Franklyn Okoye, Charles Lasisi, Ajilore Kehinde, Chuka Onwordi, Joshua Bakare, Lohi Simone, and herself. Pieces cover photography, digital art, and painting. She describes it as a push to spotlight young creatives, shaking up old ideas about Nigerian art with a fresh look tied to youth life, digital vibes, and shifting identities. QED.ng and Freedom Online report the details.

Doors open at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the gallery on 5 Sumbo Jibowu, off Ribadu on Awolowo Road. QED.ng notes it runs as a bridge for different generations, sparking talks on how new artists redefine Nigerian scenes through bold experiments and real stories.
